Why does storm damage need a fast look?
Arkansas gets severe thunderstorms, straight-line winds, and the occasional tornado. A storm can lift shingles just enough to break their seal without pulling them off. From your driveway, the roof looks fine.
Then it rains three months later and your ceiling stains.
The other reason to move fast is your insurance. Claims get harder to prove as time passes.
What should I do right after a storm?
Get everyone safe, then call 501-359-5550. Do not climb a wet or damaged roof. Take photos from the ground if it is safe. We can often tarp your roof the same day to stop water from getting into your house.
Once the water is stopped, we do a full inspection and write up what we find.
Then you decide what happens next. There is no pressure from us.
What storm damage should I look for?
Look for missing shingles, shingles lying in the yard, bent gutters, and limbs on the roof. Inside, check your attic for damp spots and your ceilings for stains. Most real damage hides where you cannot see it from the ground.
Here is what different storms do to a roof.
| Storm type | Common damage | How fast to act |
|---|---|---|
| Straight-line wind | Lifted or missing shingles | Within days |
| Hail | Bruised, pitted shingles | Within weeks |
| Fallen limb | Punctured decking | Immediately |
| Heavy rain | Leaks through old flashing | Immediately |
Spring is the worst stretch. Arkansas hail season runs March through June.
Will my insurance pay for a new roof?
Most policies cover roof damage from wind, hail, and falling limbs. They usually will not cover a roof that just wore out with age. Storm damage is what triggers coverage, so proving it matters.
We photograph everything, write a report, and meet your adjuster at your house. We have handled hundreds of claims in Garland County.
We never talk you into filing a claim you do not need. If your roof is fine, we say so and leave.
What does the repair actually involve?
It depends on the damage. Sometimes we replace a section of shingles and flashing. Sometimes a limb went through the decking and we rebuild that part of the roof. Big storms mean a full replacement.
If it is a full replacement, this is a good moment to consider metal roofing. Metal handles hail and wind far better than shingles.
For a smaller job, see roof repair or roof leak repair. Hail alone is covered on our hail damage repair page.
Who is doing the work on my roof?
Our own crews. We are a licensed Arkansas roofing contractor, license number RR0540931024, based at 209 Albert Pike in Hot Springs. We have roofed here for over 20 years with 20 trained people on staff.
After a big storm, out-of-state crews show up chasing work and leave when the season ends. We are here year-round.
We serve Hot Springs, Hot Springs Village, Benton, Bryant, and Malvern. Contact us or call 501-359-5550. Financing is available on our financing page.
Frequently asked questions
What should I do right after a storm damages my roof?
Get everyone safe first, then call us at 501-359-5550. Do not climb up on a wet or damaged roof. Take photos from the ground if you can do it safely. We answer seven days a week and can often tarp your roof the same day to stop water coming in.
Will my insurance cover storm damage to my roof?
Most policies cover roof damage from wind, hail, and fallen limbs. They usually will not cover a roof that simply wore out. We inspect for free, photograph the damage, and meet your adjuster at your home. If there is no real damage, we tell you that.
How soon do I need to file a claim?
Sooner is better. Most policies have a time limit for storm claims, and damage gets harder to prove as weeks pass. Call your insurer, then call us. Our free inspection gives you photos and a written report you can hand straight to your adjuster.
Can you tarp my roof tonight?
Often yes. We answer the phone seven days a week, 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A tarp is not a repair, but it keeps water out of your house until we can do the real work. Call 501-359-5550 and tell us water is coming in.
My roof looks fine from the ground. Should I still get it checked?
Yes. Wind and hail damage often does not show from the ground. Lifted shingles, cracked seals, and bruised spots are only visible up close. That hidden damage leaks months later. Our inspection is free, so there is no reason to guess.
Do you work with my insurance company?
Yes. We document the damage with photos, write it up, and meet your adjuster on site so nothing gets missed. We have handled hundreds of storm claims across Garland County. You still choose your contractor. Your insurer does not choose for you.
